Why is it that people who ‘might’ normally be critical thinkers will totaly shut down any rational discourse when they hear the word conspiracy?  It’s like the population has been given a brain shutdown implant that causes people to become enraged, to ignore or to fight against a theory even when they can show no credible contrary evidence. 

Yet, if our government poses a theory, even conspiratorial in nature, people will grab onto like it is a life-boat and hang on with all their might, fending off anyone who might point out the the life-boat has a hole in it and is leaking.  “Is not, that’s a conspiracy theory!” they’ll say, and then they’re satisfied that they’ve actually said something.  It’s like debating factual evidence with my cat Tanji.  All he ever says is meow!
